The project aims to develop a Centre of Knowledge in order to create an infrastructural basis of education postgraduate studies and scientific activities. This Centre can serve the educational needs of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and also the other Faculties of Szent István University. In the frame of the project an existing laboratory building has been reconstructed, modernized and enlarged and new areas has been built.

Institute for Process Engineering    8
Institute for Process Engineering consists of three departments: Department of Energetics, Department of Measurement Technology and Department of Automotive Technology. The main tasks of the Institute are education, research, technical development, consulting and active participation in professional public life, mainly on domain fields of applied energy and mass transport, bioenergetics, applied electric and PLC technologies, internal combustion engines and off road technologies.

The Institute for Mechanical Engineering Technology consists of three departments: Department of Material and Engineering Technology, Department of Maintenance of Machinery, Department of Mechatronics. During the last three years essential infrastructural renewing and technical developments were done. The article introduces the main focuses of systematic developments that can serve the education, research technical service as well.

The Institute of Environmental Engineering Systems, Szent István University, Gödöllő, Hungary consists of two units as Department of Physics and Process Control and Department of Environmental and Building Engineering. The main target of the Institute is to take part int the (BSc, MSc and PhD level) education and the related research concerning to the most typicak subject as physics, flow theory, environmental and energy economy, renewable energy resources, control of industrial processes, building engineering.

The present paper gives an overview about the professional mission and structure of the Institute of Engineering Management. We review the main characteristics of our educational program of Engineering Management and the offered courses, our research and extension activities. Our new laboratory in SZIE-GEK KNOWLEDGE TRANSFERCENTER is also briefly introduced.

The Centre for Vocational Training and Technical Experties ensures demonstration and training areas for teaching of natural and technical sciences. It also contributes to organisation of farm practice. The Knowledge Centre realized by European financial funds enforces the basis of practical oriented education.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Szent István University has been an important participant of the Hungarian education for sixty years. During this period more than eight thousand engineering degrees were issued. Our graduated engineers became the important participants of the Hungarian agriculture and industry. Presently we have four training programs: mechanical engineering, agricultural and food processing engineering, mechatronics engineering ,and engineering management. Our training system is based on the “Bologna-process”.
