RELIABILITY-BASED COST DESIGN OF LONGITUDINALLY STIFFENED WELDED STEEL PLATES     5
The aim of this work is the reliability-based optimization of a stiffened plate subjected to in-plane or combined in-plane and transverse loading. A level II reliability method (FORM) is employed. The overall structural reliability is obtained by using Ditlevsen method of conditional bounding. The branch and bound strategy is employed to enumerate optimum costs, which are solutions within a specified tolerance of the optimum.

Dr. Jármai Károly:
COST CALCULATION OF THIN-WALLED WELDED STRUCTURES USING DIFFERENT FABRICATION TECHNOLOGIES     13
The cost calculation of welded steel structures is shown. This calculation is established on the fabrication time of the given technology. Considering several welding and cutting technologies, painting and surface preparation, one can calculate the optimum sizes, dimensions of the structure.

Spisák Bernadett, Beleznai Róbert:
INJECTION MOLDING SIMULATION OF A COMPOSITE OIL PAN     21
For polymer-based composites, the most common production method is the injection molding. This method was chosen for the manufacturing process of the oil sump and injection molding simulation was executed. The results obtained from the researches are presented.

Petrik Máté, Szepesi Gábor, Jármai Károly:
COMPARISON OF ANALYTICAL CALCULATION, NUMERICAL SIMULATION AND MEASUREMENTS OF TUBE SIDE HEAT TRANSFER OF A SHELL-AND-TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER     25
A model shell-and-tube heat exchanger with horizontal baffles was numerically investigated compared to the measured values using the commercial software SC-Tetra V11

PROFESSIONAL LIFE OF JÓZSEF FARKAS DEDICATED TO STRUCTURAL OPTIMIZATION     29
This article deals with the professional activity and life of Prof. József Farkas, who started his carrier at the University of Miskolc in 1950. His main research fields were structural optimization, residual stresses and deformations of welded structures and structural stability.

Dr. Kota László, Dr. Jármai Károly:
APPLICATION OF MULTILEVEL OPTIMIZATION ALGORITHM     32
In this paper we will show and evaluate some multi-level optimization methods tested on several test functions, comparing the convergence and computational needs.

Hazim Nasir Ghafil, Dr. Jármai Károly:
RESEARCH AND APPLICATION OF INDUSTRIAL ROBOTS AND MANIPULATORS AT CAR- AND VEHICLE ENGINEERING, A REVIEW     36
This work explores the use of robot manipulators and their various applications in the automotive and vehicle industries, as well as the relationship between applications and optimized robot manipulators, and robotic statistics around the world

Nagy Szilárd, Dr. Jármai Károly:
BASIC, HIBRID AND MULTILEVEL EVOLUTIONARY ALGORITHMS     44
The methods are well used to solve nonlinear, multi-dimensional engineering problems, where the usage of gradient based methods is difficult, or can’t be used. In last few years, research of these methods is get great emphasis. In this paper three basic algorithm - namely random search, firefly algorithm and differential evolution, hybrid and multi-level methods and their combinations are investigated.

Fehér Márk, Dr. Takács János:
MATERIALS AND MEASUREMENTS FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURED CUSTOMIZED HUMAN IMPLANTS     52
Designing and manufacturing medical implants are complex tasks. To determine the exact composition of their materials is important, and by the use of GDOES we can get reliable and quick results about that. This presentation demonstrates the results of a GDOES measurement taking the implants’ quality requirements into account.

Varga Laura Georgina, Dr. Takács János:
TAILOR-MADE 3D MODEL DESIGN OF HUMAN IMPLANTS FOR ADDITIVE TECHNOLOGIES     59
The article deals with the development of a model of individualized implants. It is presented how to produce an implant (bone model) based on digital medical informations (CT, MRI). The biocompatibility criteria and human bone properties were taken into consideration during the studies. When creating models, the geometric design possibilities are focused, from the solid 3D body to the creation of hollow, bone-forming structures.
